Bijay is a devoted farmer leading a quiet transformation in his village – Patlekhet, a small village in Dhulikhel-11, Nepal. After spending several years abroad, he made a life-changing decision to return to his homeland and dedicate himself to nurturing the soil that raised him.
As the lead farmer of the model farm, Bijay works with care and commitment – monitoring, maintaining, and guiding the farm’s progress every day. He has played a key role in turning the land into a thriving hub of regenerative and organic agriculture, with agroforestry as one of the core practices.
For the past two years, Bijay has also served as a lead farmer with Green Intelligence (GI), a Nepali-Dutch social enterprise focused on restoring degraded landscapes through sustainable and regenerative farming. With GI’s support, Bijay has expanded cultivation on both his own farm and those of neighboring farmers, growing a wide variety of crops – ginger, turmeric, macadamia nuts, lemons, and avocados – all farmed naturally and without chemicals.
